Simplicity Wins – The Advice you should never Ignore!

complexity is bad

I recommend putting together a simple website if you are into the business of content creation.

It can help you build an email list, build your portfolio and also acquire clients.

A website doesn’t need to be expensive and if you are looking for a reliable option, I would recommend using Hostinger for your hosting needs.

I host all of my websites of Hostinger because they are amazing in their support and services.

Staying Stuck vs Being Uncomfortable!

Complexity is the enemy of execution.” — Tony Robbins

A few weeks ago, I launched a simple challenge.

No website.
No complicated funnels.
No big, flashy promises.

Just one clear, actionable idea that people could implement immediately – Start a Podcast in 7 days!

And in just 15 days, 120 people signed up, and I made $251.

The best part – I launched the challenge as a FREEBIE and I got about 23 people signing up initially.

That experience taught me one of the biggest lessons in business (and life):

Simplicity sells.

And yet, most people overcomplicate things.

They think success requires fancy sales pages, high-budget ads, and complex strategies.

It doesn’t.

Why Simplicity Wins Every Time

Think about the last time you bought something online.

Did you spend hours analyzing all the features, or did you click “buy” because it felt like the obvious choice?

I see people writing sales pages that are 4 pages long.

But truth be told – I have never read a sales page ever.

All I would do is read the section about the fold, skim through to find anything relevant and then make my decision to either buy or, sell!

The best products, offers, and ideas share four key traits:

  • Doable – People trust what they can execute right away.
  • Repeatable – If it works once, they want to do it again.
  • Duplicatable – They can teach or share it with others.
  • Understandable – No jargon, no confusion, just clarity.

This is why companies like Apple, McDonald’s, and Netflix dominate—they remove friction and make things effortless.

If you have been online for some time, you would have heard of platforms like Stan.store, Nas.io and even Topmate that a lot of people in India use…

All of these platforms were built for simplicity:

  • so that creators don’t have to go through the headache of setting up complicated websites, workflows, sales funnels etc.
  • every one of them knew the difficulty in setting up a payment gateway and configuring it.
  • they knew the pain behind creating and selling digital products
  • they knew how easy it was for a customer to drop off, if the customer journey became complicated.

And they simplified every one of those steps by launching these platforms.

There are numerous examples today on LinkedIn, X and Threads that show the power of simplicity, in making money online.

How to Use Simplicity to Sell More

There is a sea shift in the way things are happening on the internet these days.

I personally attribute it to the advent of AI.

Why put in more efforts if you can get it simply by chatting and tell what you need!

So now people are looking for simplicity. They don’t want courses that go on for hours.

They don’t want books that are 500 pages long. (Remember, every knowledge accumulation platform today has an AI that can summarize the knowledge in a click, so much so that even emails are also consumed in a summary format).

Instead what people want today is short, crisp information.

In the past 4 months or, so I found, networked and made friends with:

  • a guy who is selling $7.00 guides to his followers and made $8,000 per month
  • another guy who is creating 15 minutes courses and is making around $15K per month
  • a very successful lady who is selling a $27 coaching and makes around $35K per month
  • a guy who is selling PDFs in the range of $17-$27 and making $90K per month

These are all models based on Simplicity!

The best part – a lot of these are happening on auto-pilot!

And even better is the fact that this business model is scalable.

One of the question I got last week when I published this as a short form post on LinkedIn was, “will this model work in the Indian market?”

Now there are two answers to it:

  1. Firstly, My money making market is primarily from outside of India. But about 31 people who took up the challenge were from India. So my advice will be to look at options of using your expertise for a market that broadly targets outside India.
  2. Secondly, there is no reason why it should work in India. The only thing is, you will have to price it right, specifically from an Indian market perspective.

Now, with that out of the way, here’s how you can apply this to grow faster, if you’re an entrepreneur, creator, or business owner, :

Remove the Friction

Every extra step in your process is a reason for someone to say “I’ll do it later” (which means never).

👉 Make it ridiculously easy for people to buy, sign up, or take action.

✅ Reduce unnecessary steps in your checkout process.
✅ Cut the fluff in your sales pitch and get straight to the value. Long form sales pages are no more working!
✅ Use simple, everyday language.

The simpler it is to say “yes,” the more sales you’ll make.

Focus on ONE Big Promise

A confused mind doesn’t buy.

Instead of listing 10 benefits, focus on one clear, powerful outcome.

Examples:

Complex: “Join this program to learn copywriting, email marketing, and branding to grow your business.”

Simple: “I’ll teach you how to write emails that sell in 7 days.”

People buy solutions, not complexity.

Sell the Transformation, Not the Details

Nobody cares about the “5-week curriculum”—they care about the result.

🚫 Don’t say: “You’ll get 10 PDF guides, 5 hours of video, and weekly calls.”
Do say: “By the end of this program, you’ll have your first paying client.”

Simple messaging = bigger impact.

Use the Power of a Challenge

Why did my simple challenge work so well?

✅ People love a clear goal (e.g., “Write your first newsletter in 7 days”).
✅ They feel a sense of community and accountability.
✅ There’s a definiteness and a built-in sense of urgency—a challenge has an end date.

If you want to sell something fast, create a short challenge that helps people achieve a quick win.

And the secret – challenges sell easily and are the most money making low priced model out there..

Final Thought: Cut the Clutter, Sell More

Most businesses struggle not because they don’t have a good product, but because they make it too hard for people to say YES.

Simplify your message.

Simplify your process.

Simplify your offer.

Because in the end, the easier it is to buy, the more people will.

🚀 Now, here’s your challenge: Look at your current offer, business, or content— Where can you remove friction and make it simpler?
