I recommend putting together a simple website if you are into the business of content creation.

It can help you build an email list, build your portfolio and also acquire clients.

A website doesn’t need to be expensive and if you are looking for a reliable option, I would recommend using Hostinger for your hosting needs.

I host all of my websites of Hostinger because they are amazing in their support and services.

Making sense of the Solopreneurship!

“What got you here won’t get you there.” — Marshall Goldsmith

It was late at night, and I was sitting at my desk, staring at my laptop.

Tabs were open everywhere, one for email marketing, another for content creation, a third for researching hashtags, and one for watching yet another tutorial on how to “crack the code” of social media algorithms.

I was exhausted.

I’d convinced myself that Solopreneurship was my ticket to freedom: the kind where you make your own schedule, spend your mornings sipping coffee in peace, and celebrate big wins at the end of every month.

But this?

This was chaos.

And I’ll admit it.

I’d bought into a fantasy.

The fantasy that Solopreneurship was easy.

Spoiler alert: It’s not.

If you’re in this phase of trying to do it all, juggling content creation, marketing, strategy, client work, and even the bookkeeping, you’re not alone.

The early days of building anything worthwhile are tough.

But the struggle doesn’t have to last forever.

Every successful solopreneur has felt this overwhelm.

The difference is, they didn’t just push through, they took intentional steps to shorten the struggle and pave a path to sustainable success.

So can you.

And that is exactly what I will discuss today.

The Solopreneurship Trap

Solopreneurship is not bad.

But the way it is projected and sold is bad.

Part of it is the ways influencers and other solopreneurs (who want to sell their course) sell it, and part of it is the way aspirants understand it.

Now if you have that question of how can I say what I am saying and who am I to do it, let me give you a short gist of the “HOW” and “WHY”.

I have done:

  1. Freelancing and quit it
  2. Solo ads and quit it
  3. Blogging and am continuing it.
  4. Podcasting and am continuing it.
  5. Affiliate marketing and am continuing it.
  6. Email marketing and am continuing it.

You see that there were two things that I started and then quit.

And a few others that I am continuing.

Why?

Because the ones that I quit were either trading my time for money (freelancing) or, something that wasn’t sustainable and wasn’t true to my principle (solo ads).

My biggest reason for getting into an online business was to get freedom from the worries of time and money.

But things like freelancing gave me freedom but only partially.

I was not working for someone else and so, nobody else could control my life. And that was the freedom it gave me.

But, when it came to money and time, it was still a struggle.

The more time I put in, the more money I could make.

It was a constant chase for new clients…

..and time was something I still continued to struggle with because I had to put in a lot of time to make the same amount of money I was making in my regular job!

That’s when I started looking out of options that could help me make money by leveraging time..

I will be sharing more about these options in my future newsletters.

But, to sum it up, my business today is all based on passive income.

It is not easy!

It is not quick!

It is not ZERO work!

With that out of the way

Pick ONE Platform and ONE Niche

This is where most solopreneurs trip up.

We live in an age of digital “everywhere-ness,” where the advice often feels like this:

“Be on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and oh—don’t forget Twitter!”

Sounds exhausting, doesn’t it?

The truth is, you don’t need to be everywhere. You need to be where it matters.

Ask yourself:

  • Where does your audience hang out online?
  • Which platform feels most natural for you to create on?

For instance, if you love writing and your audience is B2B professionals, LinkedIn might be your best bet.

If you’re more visual and targeting Gen Z, Instagram or TikTok could be your playground.

Pick one platform and commit to mastering it.

Next, narrow your focus. Choose one niche.

A niche isn’t just a topic—it’s a specific, focused area where you want to build expertise.

Instead of saying, “I help businesses grow,” say, “I help female coaches scale their Instagram using reels.”

Specificity builds authority. Authority builds trust.

And trust?

That’s what grows your business.

Learn the Tricks of the Trade

Let’s be honest: no one starts as an expert.

Every successful solopreneur you admire once had no clue what they were doing. The key was learning.

So, how do you learn the ropes without getting overwhelmed?

  • Follow top creators in your niche. Study their content, their style, and their strategies. What topics do they focus on? How do they engage their audience?
  • Pay attention to what works. Is it their storytelling? Their visuals? Their consistency?
  • Experiment for yourself. Theory is helpful, but action is essential.

You’ll make mistakes along the way—probably a lot of them.

But mistakes aren’t failures.

As Thomas Edison famously said:

“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”

Think of your journey the same way.

Every misstep teaches you what not to do, and every small win brings you closer to success.

Let the Data Guide You

When you’re doing it all, it’s tempting to rely on gut instinct to decide what’s working and what’s not.

But here’s the thing: data is your best friend.

Start tracking your efforts.

  • What content gets the most engagement?
  • Which posts drive clicks, inquiries, or sales?
  • Are your followers growing, and more importantly, are they engaging?

Patterns don’t lie.

If you notice that your LinkedIn long-form posts consistently drive leads, double down on them.

If Instagram reels flop but carousel posts perform well, adjust your strategy.

This process isn’t just about what works—it’s also about letting go of what doesn’t.

Your time is precious.

Spend it on what moves the needle.

Have a Clear Growth Strategy

Here’s where solopreneurs often get stuck.

Without a plan, it’s easy to fall into a cycle of random actions that lead to random results.

Growth requires intention.

Here’s how to create a simple, actionable strategy:

  • Set a clear goal. For example: “Grow my email list by 500 subscribers in the next 90 days.”
  • Break it down into steps. If your goal is list growth, your steps might include creating a lead magnet, promoting it on your chosen platform, and running an email campaign.
  • Track your progress. Are you moving closer to your goal? If not, adjust your approach.

A clear strategy turns chaos into clarity.

And clarity?

That’s where you start to see momentum.

The Struggle is Inevitable, But It’s Not Permanent

Let’s not sugarcoat it: Solopreneurship is hard.

There will be days when you feel like you’re spinning your wheels. Days when you wonder if it’s worth it.

But here’s the thing: the struggle is temporary.

When you focus, learn, and adapt, you shorten the timeline to success.

You move from being overwhelmed to being in control.

And one day, you’ll look back and realize that every late night, every experiment, and every small win was building the foundation for your success.
